Major recent mechanical work includes new cylinders, pistons and rings - along with a new clutch plate, new pushrods, seals, tubes, and a new belt. The engine has been timed and tuned for comfortable 70-mph cruising, and all fuel lines have been redone for reliability. The carburetor has also been professionally cleaned.

This 1973 Super Beetle features four-wheel disc brakes, with the option to add a brake booster for an even firmer pedal feel. Intermediate steering shaft has been replaced, and the Super Beetle–specific front suspension upgrade provides improved ride quality and handling.

Inside, a new interior carpet kit freshens the cabin, and the battery has been relocated to the trunk with the appropriate re-wiring. The shifter bushings are intact and present, resulting in solid shift feel.

[Additional highlights include]: Aftermarket exhaust, new chrome seals and additional new chrome components, and spare parts stored in the front trunk. Heater channels are present, though the vehicle is not currently set up to draw heat from the exhaust system (to avoid fumes; if heat is wanted, a diesel heater can be placed in the front trunk usually).
